For the one who was an acquaintance, then a friend, then quietly, everything.
Some people arrive in your life so quietly you don't notice the exact moment they stopped being new. This is for her, the ordinary days that became a whole life, and the hope that it carries on past this one.
It was just a normal day,
Where people talk and people say,
That's when I met her, an acquaintance still,
And laughter came, no silence to fill.
We would talk a little, then talk some more,
We would share a little, then share some more.
Until my life became hers too,
With little left unsaid between us two.
Our days began and ended like the rest,
No storms arrived, no springtime's crest.
But we were intertwined, we did not know,
Two lives becoming one, so soft and slow.
Now my pain is hers, her joy is mine,
Our dreams, our wishes, our thoughts align.
Duas and prayers for each other rise,
As open palms reach toward the skies.
As we walk through life, I think of death,
Of what would come, should one lose breath.
What would I do without her by my side?
These fears stay open, I will not hide.
As years unfold, our story finds its page,
Time keeps moving, moments turn the stage.
As hair turns grey and skin grows thin,
Our smiles grow softer, giggles settle in.
When strength runs low, and feelings surge up high,
When there's no reason left, and yet I cry,
When I long for comfort, a touch that soothes,
I wish for her nearness, to chase the blues.
Today I wish her a heart so blessed,
With every chapter yet unaddressed.
Let peace and happiness be always near,
Let joy remain, and let go every fear.
Our duas for one another stay strong,
O Allah, make right what has gone wrong.
Make us Your people, held dear in Your sight,
And grant us Jannah, together, in Your light.
What started as an ordinary day,
Became forever, come what may.
And when this world folds and comes to an end,
Together always, in Jannah we ascend.
